The production plaster mould was captured using Blue Light 3D Scanning / reverse engineering (CBM – Wales Centre For Advanced Batch Manufacturing). The blue light fringe projection technology offers an ultra high performance solution and opens up new dimensions in efficient 3D data acquisition. With a mesh point spacing of 18 microns, the resulting accurate cloud point data set was converted into STL file format, which is the industry standard for additive manufacturing processes. This is a production project led by Bryan Thomas.
