CBM Medical offers customised devices through the use of CT scan data and Additive Manufacturing (3D printing).

Our team brings experience across a wide range of sectors within the medical and healthcare industry. Medical imaging techniques, such as Computer Tomography (CT) are typically used to acquire 3D computer models of anatomical structures. Specialist CE and FDA approved medical device software is used to manipulate anatomical structures, undertake virtual surgical operations and design custom-fitting devices, such that the surgical guide, surgical implants and custom designed products produced interface accurately with the desired anatomy. CBM offer three medically approved materials; an ISO 10993 certified polymer (biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, sensitization and irritation tested), a USP Class VI certified polymer and a USP Class VI Ti6Al4V implantable metal. CBM operates quality management systems that comply with the requirements of ISO 9001 2015 for the Design and Manufacture of custom made 3D-Printed surgical guides and implants intended for end-user sterilization. We encourage feedback on all cases as part of our post market surveillance. Please click Here to fill out our form. Thank You!

Anatomical Models

Custom anatomical models are manufactured using our selection of in-house 3D printing technologies, generally from CT DICOM data that is converted to an STL file to print in a variety of materials.

The most suitable material is chosen dependent on the client’s specification e.g. the models intended use, whether it needs to be sterilisable, or coloured etc. The models are usually used as an aid to communicate to clients, to practice surgical procedures or as a physical reference in lectures or operations.

Surgical Guides

Surgical guides are 3D printed devices fabricated in metal or polymer. They are specified by the client to locate securely onto area specific anatomical landmarks and are used to guide drilling or cutting trajectories and/or re-positioning of anatomy accurately.

Surgical guides can work in conjunction with CBM Medical’s surgical implants.

Surgical Implants

Surgical implants are 3D printed devices fabricated in metal. The implants are designed with the client in order to specify whether mechanical and/or aesthetic functions are required.

The surgical implants are area specific and can work in conjunction with CBM Medical’s surgical guides. CBM’s in-house state-of-the-art implant manufacture decreases lead times and offers tailored design outcomes that consider surface finishes, weight reduction and porosity.

Custom Innovations

CBM Medical offers a comprehensive customisation service for medical innovations.

Through the use of the state-of-the-art scanning and 3D printing equipment, CBM can provide anatomical specific devices tailored to a client’s specification. CBM also offers the ability to provide FEA and stress loading analysis for designs.
