Dr Hafeez Hashimdeen

Dr Shaikh Hafeez Hashimdeen holds an MEng in Materials Engineering in medicine from the Queen Mary University of London. He then did his PhD in high resolution electrohydrodynamic printing of biopolymers at University College London (UCL) while working in the Biomaterials Processing and Forming Laboratory. Hafeez has close to 6 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and guiding the development of novel medical devices for the NHS from concept to prototype.  He has worked on multiple NIHR-funded research projects focused on developing medical devices for patients with rare skin diseases which involved collaborating with hand therapists, clinicians, patients, and surgeons as part of a co-design methodology.
